3. About Pupillary Distance(PD)
-
Pupillary distance (PD) is the distance measured in millimeters between the centers of the pupils of the eyes. This measurement is different from person to person. The average PD for women is 62mm and for men 64mm. Between 58 and 68 is quite normal. In most cases, you have one PD number, which means your both eyes' PD is the same, the half of that number.
-
The easiest way to get this measurement is to ask your optician for it. We also strongly suggest you to get your PD from your optician.
-
It is also easy to measure your PD using a simple millimeter ruler and a mirror or with the help of a friend.
-
Steps to measure PD
-
Place a millimeter ruler directly over the center of your right pupil and keep the ruler is horizontal. Place against forehead for added stability. Stand in front of a mirror, or ask someone else to measure for you.
-
Keep looking straight ahead, measure the distance from the center of your right pupil to the center of your left pupil.
-
Repeat several times of the measurement process for accuracy, and use the average result for your final measurement.
